Responsibilities:
AP Accountant be the sole person responsible for AP:
Processing payables - everything done through document imaging (almost 100% paperless AP system)Going through the AP inbox, sorting it into different folders based on the status of the invoices, coding them for project managers, entering them, routing them to the project managers, then posting once approved.
Cutting checks.
(Another team member will do the ACH payments)Check runs are done on Thursdays (but not every week).
AP Accountant will run reports for lien waivers and let Contracts Department know what's been paid.
AP Accountant will provide 1099 supportAP Accountant will provide audit support - may be asked to pull invoices and other documents.
AP Accountant will primarilty posting invoices into the system (Foundation) - 600-650/month (there's job costing, GL, sales and use tax that must be right - if not on the invoice, make sure its accrued; might need to research the voucher to confirm its being entered correctly)CFO will do final review of work before the AP Accountant posts anything.
The Project Manager does the first review and will correct any coding errors.
AP Accountant will complete ad hoc tasks and projects, as requestedRequirements:

years of solid AP
Experience:
Should be strong in AP beyond data entry, must really understand the details reviewing on complex vouchersUnderstanding of cost accounting and cost coding invoicesUnderstanding of accruals for things that haven't been invoiced yet, make sure items are in the proper placePrevious construction accounting experience preferred because there's a lot of job costing but NOT requiredFoundation software experience would be a plus but is NOT requiredDegree is a plus but NOT required if a candidate has the previous professional experienceBasic Excel skills Personality Fit:
